Rackers Newsflash

FROM: Shawn L.

Hey Rackers. A little heads up on the Style of the Month that we try to do for the business meetings.

For those of you who don't know what the Style of the Month is, its pretty simple. We have a few beer styles laid out for particular monthly meetings, that hopefully us members will brew and bring along to the corresponding meeting and talk about them. This is not a competition or anything. Just a way to broaden both our beer knowledge, but also our homebrewing knowledge as well.

Anyone is welcome to brew any of the styles. Use any technique, any style of brewing.
Are you a classic recipe brewer? Great! Got a new twist or new angle on that old beer? Awesome! Brew it. Maybe jot down a note or two and bring it to the meeting.

We have heard from a few members that they didn't know where to find the styles coming up or that they were not all that familiar with some of the styles.

Well luckily, we have a few very good options. We already have the styles posted for the next year or more on the http://rackers.org/ site. The Forum here is a great place to ask any questions about not only the "SotM" beers, but any beer, wine, cider topic you want.

Plus, if you haven't already liked us on the Green Bay Rackers Home Brew Club Facebook Page, then go check it out. We post reminders there as well. And will try to throw a little more info out there about upcoming styles and time frames

I would encourage us as members to use these sites as they really can help in sharing information, and to get any info or help you may need. And also, it helps just to keep in touch in between the meetings.

With that in mind, here is the 2015 Style of the Month brews

2015

APRIL - Maibock
JUNE - Belgian Blonde
AUGUST - Cider
OCTOBER - IPA
DECEMBER - Old Ale (might want to consider starting this one a few months ahead of time.)
